New Music: Florian’s Morning x ionnalee – gimme something good

Florian’s Morning teams up with ionnalee on gimme something good, another melancholic folktronica number from his upcoming LP.

The link between the two artists is manyfold: the song was originally composed by ionnalee but reworked for Florian’s Morning, the solo project of Mats Lideborg. His album, titled Florian’s Morning, is due to be released by ionnalee’s label, and of course, she appears on the song.

The vocals of Mats Lideborg have an earthy and folky tone, one of someone who has lived life and possibly experienced the events outlined in the song. That becomes impressive when you come to learn that the words were written from the head and heart of someone else.

The beauty that lies in the duet and the searching nature of the lyrics are certain to melt the hardest of hearts, and I want to hear more of the album and what is turning out to be a wonderful musical partnership between two very singular artists.
